My Valentine
This is my fourth Valentine’s Day with my husband, Daniel. We were married May of 2006, and dated off an on since November 2004. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge this man and how much I love him.
He went from having one child and a quaint life to being the head of a household of then 4 kids, his – the youngest. He went through the trials of me and my daughter before she moved out. He went through the trials of one of my son’s just not truly engaging in school and feeling lost. He continues to go through my youngest’s mental health issues. Although sometimes he says it’s about all he can take – he continues on. I respect and admire this man who took on so much when he had the slow and calm life before.
With all of the issues my husband has dealt with by marrying me, I’ve given him the three most important *beings* in my life. My children. It’s a gift I would not have given to just anyone. Although there is drama – there is more love than someone could ever imagine if they were not living it.
He has provided for us, loved us, and generally put up with us. That’s quite amazing. On the other side… I’ve put up with him as well. That’s marriage and it’s what we signed up for. I’ve been so busy with work, sleep (boy I’m tired!) and Stephen – that I haven’t had much time for my hubby. We are making time tomorrow which will be wonderful, even though it’s storming. Hey, storms are romantic.
While we venture closer to our wedding anniversary I can honestly say it’s been a wonderful ride. I love him very much and thought I’d tell him here as well as together tomorrow for Valentines Day.
He sent me flowers to my job today. I got to put the beautiful roses in my cubbie and feel loved publicly. Very nice indeed.
I love you Daniel, thank you for taking on this adventure with me. Happy Valentines Day.
Love,
Monnie

Fun at the Nichols, Ford, and Sharp Home
Yes, we have alot of last names in the house. Two are Nichols, two are Ford and two are Sharp. Hey, I haven’t exactly changed my last name yet. I will though… don’t you fret!
Now, on to the fun at the house!
First, my three kids thought it would be great to take a photo for me and I was so excited to get it! They used my camera and a tri-pod and even got Indy to look at the camera by throwing something in the direction of the tri-pod! LOL They did great!

Unconscious Mutterings Wk #1
Hi there:
Actually, this has been going on for a long time. I know I’ve seen it, or maybe even done it once or twice, but I saw it on Susan’s Site – “Lollipop Moments” and I thought I’d give it a go!

Cafemom – Fun Photo Showdowns
Now this is interesting. I found this site Cafemom, that you can join with other mommas. Well, I qualify for something – that would be a momma for sure. So I thought I’d join and see what’s cookin’.
I found that you can do a photo showdown (just-for-fun) and see what others vote as the best between your photo and someone else’s! I saw so many cute pics, I just had to try. Take a look! This one that I’ve linked to is of my step-son Daniel J and my niece Megan. She follows him everywhere!
While looking through photos, I came across one of Jessie Leigh (my daughter, now 19) and I restored it a bit. I was so excited to find this! What do you think?
Well, nuff for now. Have a great night!

Sanctuary – Almost Done
I told you all about the “sanctuary” I had envisioned for my backyard. I’m someone that loves Mother Nature, and loves her space to meditate. Usually that means outside of the house and closer to anything nature.
In suburbia, finding nature is difficult. My neighbors have a beautiful tree that seems to love coming over into our yard – thankfully. It was in that corner of my yard I planned out my sanctuary.
I thought I’d show you thusfar where we are at with this endeavor.
These are in order and the only things left are the roof, painting and the interior. But here she is:

Some Siding Up
The funky tarp over the top is simply because it’s been raining. What you probobly cannot see at all is that inside there is a candle chandelier, a cozy wicker chair, candles and insence burner.
The front will have drapes to close off the doorway. I do work in a dark environment. Work on me that is. I do my meditation by candlelight. The tree does hang over so I get to get the vibe from my friend Mr. Tree.
Inside the feeling is absolutely wonderful.
I have yet to plant most of the plants around it, as I have to paint – this weekend? And dig next to it for a fountain.
My Father-In-Law – One Year Without Him
I didn’t know what else to call this post, but I do have to say I don’t feel like we are completely without him you know? I always seem to catch a fragrance (smoke), hear a laugh, or something to remind us of him – he’s still very much around.
That’s my belief, take it or leave it – but it’s really a knowing. Harold loves us mucho. The old “coot” said he’d haunt us, so why not?
Harold died of cancer on this day in 2007. So many of us where effected in so many ways, too many to imagine.
My husband – oh to lose your father, I cannot begin to imagine.
My kids, who only where around him for a few years – were very effected and it broke my heart watching them grieve.
His grandchildren – what can you say to that grief?
Friends, Family – all of us where touched in so many different ways by him.
He’s wasn’t some sweet little old guy though. Nope. Well, not on the outside… he was a burly kinda rough Navy kinda guy. He’s tell you to “kiss off” quite quickly and the next breath laugh his butt off if you tripped and fell. You just had to shake your head and laugh at him. He always lived life being truthful to who he was and not worrying what others thought.
I miss you Harold, and as of today… one year after you ditched your 3 dimensional body for a beautiful light spirity one – I have not smoked for over 10 days. Ha!
I miss you miss you miss you.
So does your son, in such a huge way……
Love and Light,

Please Send Alex Some Love and Light
I have a friend, a bloggy kinda friend – his name is Alex. He’s absolutely WONDERFUL! As all of my bloggy friends are.
From his comment just now he’s in the hospital, and I thought if just for a moment we can send him love and healing light (energy, prayers etc.) that would be great – I believe in healing energies.
His Blog is Here: Alex is Wired
Hope I didn’t embarass you Alex. But love and light is something we all get to have from time to time.
Please come home soon.
Love and Blessings, Monica

My Company – Zy Consulting
So, I’ve been workin’ on my company’s website AND location this past few days.
First, my website: www.zyconsulting.com let me know what you think! I’m going to start networking, joining the chamber of commerce, advertising etc. and I thought I’d better have a website! It’s a company site runnin’ on Wordpress. Hey, it works!
So, next is another super UBER excitement – I am leasing an office for my company! No more home office for me. My husband and I shared an office in a local city until I had a seizure and they took my license. argh – but I’ve been driving now since February and no issues, so it’s time to move into my own office and look professional.
Meanwhile, I got the lease tonight and read through – ’cause that’s what I do. I read legal docs… I’m an accountant, what can I say?
Low and behold, on line 12 -

I emailed back and said I would look at it in the morning, but that #12 caught my eye and gave me a good laugh.
Herumph.
The landlord is actually leasing me an office in his own building. They are a mortgage firm and well, they have an extra office. He’s a kick. Great sense of humor as you can see!
If you do check out my company’s site let me know what you think!
Love and Light,
Monica
EntreCard + Etsy = Hurt to My Visa
Oh, this isn’t a rant. Nor a complaint.
You see, I joined EntreCard to find new blogs. I love reading how others are doing, and getting thoughts and opinions from all over the world. I love people, it’s just in my Universal *Blood* so to speak.
So, with EntreCard I’ve found literally hundreds of blogs I enjoy daily with feeds. Yes, really. I do read my feeds when I can, and make sure I comment back etc.
The hurt to my Visa has only just started.
You see, there are artists in them thar hills! There are quite a few artists that have blogs and also have shops on Etsy.
Good news was, I had no money for a bit ~ hey, it happens.
Bad news is, I have a bit of cash-ola ~ and a project going on that needs little *touches* so to speak. What better way to add a touch to an outdoor sanctuary garden than a miniature fairy house!
I found this gem at Enchanted Garden’s shop on Etsy.
EDIT – Oh my GOSH she has a whole nother shop online… Enchanted Miniature Fairy Garden. My garden would be so excited!
Oh, it has just started!
Ofcourse I found a great birthday present for my niece over at Strawberry Anarchy’s Shop. That little baby is below.
These photos are from their shops, so if either would like them removed ~ please let me know! Not a problem at all! But, I loves your stuff!
