For those that don’t know – I have a child that has gone through depression, attempted suicide, told he was Bi-Polar – yadda yadda.  He leads a rough life at times.  But he’s not alone.  There are family members that each have to deal with their portion of his difficulties – mom, brothers, sister… etc.  We all deal with it in ways that are perfect for each of us.

We aren’t alone either, there are many many kids and their families that go through tough spots in life.  The families are sometimes the only ones standing strong for these kids because we know their true beauty and goodness inside.  Others, we find, steer clear because they don’t know how to deal with it.

I am asking that everyone Stumble this post if you do enjoy it – it is the wish of the teen that wrote this that others that may be in the same situation get some reality that they aren’t alone!

The following is a wonderful (tear jerker for me) poem that a teen wrote about his own experience as a brother (a twin brother no less) of a young man that is going through something very close to what my Stephen endures.

The following was given to many just to read, and those that could find themselves in his shoes have been praising the writing.  If you wouldn’t mind getting this out there for this young man (I will not name him unless his mother approves).  He wants others to know they aren’t alone!

What is it like to feel anger, broken-heartedness, and love at the same time?
You have to be his brother to understand.

What is it like to watch your brother constantly hurt your mom,
And feel no remorse,
Because he hardly understands what he’s doing at the time?
what is it like to have to sit there, and remain silent,
All while you witness both people suffering?
You have to be his brother to understand.

What is it like to see someone close to you,
Having already flown as high as they can get
Or so it seems?
Professionals say he can’t go any further,
But you pray to God he can.
You have to be his brother to understand.

What is it like to witness someone you love,
Hurt to the point of tears because he feels he can’t make it?
What is it like to feel so much pain your body, heart, and mind,
Can hardly take it because you see your own brother’s life in shambles?
What is it like to hear people call your brother stupid?

What is it like to be the privileged brother,
Yet you watch his life spiral downward,
All as teachers have given up on him,
Saying he won’t amount to anything in this world,
Because he has trouble reading?

What is it like to have many true friends,
But your brother has next to none,
So he feels alone, even though you share yours,
But he knows that, he knows they’re yours,
It kills you because it’s killing him?

What is it like to love your brother,
With such a sense of protecting him because of his delicacy,
That your friends call you wrong because, you get angered at the
Slightest thing anyone says about your brother, at the times when
People laugh at him, you want to punch people’s lights out?

What is it like to see him depressed as he’s cycling through meds,
And most psychiatrists can’t help him because
they refuse to push aside their pride,
and so you watch him suffer because of their idiotic mistakes,
and it makes you so sad to see this situation unfold before your eyes?

What is it like to have the desire to tell him he’ll be o.k.,
He’ll make it no matter what anyone tells him,
He’ll spread his wings and fly much higher than anyone ever anticipated,
He’s always loved and prayed for by many people,
Yet you can’t muster up the courage to tell him because you’re afraid he’ll reject this statement of love?

I’m not going to post my opinion or who I’m gonna vote for or who I won’t… or anything like that here.  I’m just gonna voice how I *feel* about the state of things…

We have a Presidential election this year.  We’ll have a new President in office.  Oh how I worry about things like this… now.  Before, I didn’t really even look much to outside of my home affairs.  That’s changed because my focus has changed. 

I personally have this thought of world peace.  Complete peace.  Everyone having what they need and a bit of what they want.  Total universal unconditional love.  Clothing, Food, Shelter, Water and Medicine.

I will refer to Star Trek here for a momento.  Yes, I’m a Trekkie and proud of it.  Whoot!  In Star Trek the Earth is one.  One.  Not broken up, but one.  There is no going hungry, no shortage of food, no folks without homes to go to.  There isn’t even cancer.  The cold and HIV and all other types of sicknesses that we deal with now are gone.  One simple *shot* and you are over cancer.  Nice. 

There are issues in Star Trek with other worlds.  So it’s not pure perfection.  But Earth is happy and is One.

This coming election isn’t Star Trek related, just to me – I watch the candidates, I watch the news, I listen to folks voice their opinions.  I wonder where and when we are going to make a shift?

There are those that comment on my blog and read my blog from other places on Earth.  Before I blogged I didn’t have any sort of contact with anyone outside my state of California let alone outside of the continent.  I appreciate you… all of you from everywhere.  The UK is the second largest visiting location – US is the first.  But there are many different country locations that do find my space here.

I read blogs with so many thoughts on peace and unified thoughts and desires.  I find it absolutely beautiful.  I do know now for sure that we are all alike in so many ways… and different in a way that makes us human. 

… can’t I just ask for peace and happiness and have it happen? …

Although some references may not follow my/your beliefs… the solid statement of this "poem" has me in thought. 

My company email (domain) is being *spoofed* or whatever you wanna call it……. these spam dudes are using my domain name and sending out spam.  Therefore, my domain name this is for MY company is out there bouncing off of servers all over the place.

Not only that, I’m getting hits on this site with a referal location to purposely get you to click on some ad website.

I have put up with Spam (freedom of do whatever ya want) since the early pay as you go AOL days (I actually worked on AOL as a Chat Room Host – yeah yeah, I had free AOL whatever!).

Telemarketing phone calls (yes I’m on the blocked list), using MY valid paid for domain name to *spoof* out and send spam…

THAT IS IT! 

My Solution:

Because this is causing me heart ache, lost emails (’cause my email is getting stuck in my client’s spam folders now with a big [SPAM] comment on them….. I’m going to start sending invoices for $175.00 each infraction to the company that is SELLLING whatever it is they are peddling.

I’m going to set up a contract online here (watch me!) and it will be referred to the first time.  I will spend as much time as I can to sending out invoices to those that violate MY personal agreement.  

I understand the whole freedom to advertise……. I do…… but not freedom to bug the crud outta me.  This is 13 years or so of SPAMitus.

NOPE – the rate will be $500.00 per infraction because when a company reaches an owed amount of $10k I’m gonna find a lawyer that will actually drag this through the courts!

‘Tis not about money – but maybe that’s all they will listen to.

I’ve been SILENT too long!  This must end!

… Rant Over – I’ll step off my soap box and get that Invoice Template set up in my Financial Software …

Remember the post I did on the Golden Compass movie?  Well, thought I’d get the trilogy that the author wrote:  Philip Pullman "His Dark Materials".  The first book in that Trilogy is what the movie The Golden Compass is about.

I’m intereted in the movie to be sure… but, um…

After reading book one (The Golden Compass) and book two (The Subtle Knife) and into book three (The Amber Spyglass)… I am wondering how they are making this into a childs film. 

It doesn’t seem to be written for children…  it’s kinda, um… Dark.  I don’t mean the references of religion (although I can tell where that would be an issue for those who normally take issue to that)… just, well… dark like Lord of the Rings.  You wouldn’t take a younger child to that (wait, maybe you would – not saying my opinion either way).  Some things are a bit gut wrenching.  I’m sure they will "child down" the movie. 

As for my teens, they are more than able to read the books and see the movie.  They understand fantasy vs. our world ya know? 

It’s a good read actually, it’s amazing how writers create these different world/fantasy stories.  The mind can think so many different things. 

Well, we’ll see I suppose.

Has anyone read these or anything else from Philip Pullman?

The kids are home finally.  At least I think these are my kids.  Just kidding on that one, except – there is a bit of a change in them.

I mentioned earlier in my posts that my kids went to Utah.  They went there not for the Church of Latter Day Saints, but for a non-religious reason.  I have a friend, my bestest friend (I know, incorrect grammar) that has gone through a life experience of sorts.  She did trainings in Utah with a place called Impact Trainings.  My boys just went to the teen version this past Thursday through Saturday.  

The trainings are personal, so there isn’t a story here to give you.  Other than, the link I included under references to the description of Teen Quest.  There are children that have participated in this from all over.  In the adult trainings, I’ve heard there are folks from all over the world that have attended.

I am going to the adult version in May.  I am eager to see what the training will assist me with – within myself.  As for my boys, the stories of what they got from the experience is amazing.  Again, it’s all personal so I can’t go into it… but, from a mom’s point of view, it’s pretty eye opening.

Thanks to the trainers at Impact Training for taking the time.  It’s appreciated here in California.

So, I seem to have multiple personalities.  Not in the literal
sense, just in the BLOG sense.

it’s a toss up.  I have no clue which one I want.  Some are
