Fun at the Nichols, Ford, and Sharp Home
Yes, we have alot of last names in the house. Two are Nichols, two are Ford and two are Sharp. Hey, I haven’t exactly changed my last name yet. I will though… don’t you fret!
Now, on to the fun at the house!
First, my three kids thought it would be great to take a photo for me and I was so excited to get it! They used my camera and a tri-pod and even got Indy to look at the camera by throwing something in the direction of the tri-pod! LOL They did great!

My babies.
Missing is my step-son, he wasn’t there that day. So they are going to take more photos with the blonde child (my only blonde kid – my step-son)!
That night we had a major blast playing Cherades (hm, spelled right?) and that was beyond halarious.
Tonight, Ice Cream social. I know it’s cold, but who could turn down ice cream?!
OH! I bought a new phone! The Google Android G1 thingy! I was a BlackBerry die hard for 3 years, and just went to the T-Mobile G1. GREAT so far!
I’m gonna get back on after the ice cream and answe comments ’cause I just love you all so!

Cafemom – Fun Photo Showdowns
Now this is interesting. I found this site Cafemom, that you can join with other mommas. Well, I qualify for something – that would be a momma for sure. So I thought I’d join and see what’s cookin’.
I found that you can do a photo showdown (just-for-fun) and see what others vote as the best between your photo and someone else’s! I saw so many cute pics, I just had to try. Take a look! This one that I’ve linked to is of my step-son Daniel J and my niece Megan. She follows him everywhere!
While looking through photos, I came across one of Jessie Leigh (my daughter, now 19) and I restored it a bit. I was so excited to find this! What do you think?
Well, nuff for now. Have a great night!

Round Valley Park
A few things here, I’m still struggling with smoking. I’ll get there, don’t you fret!
On the 8th, I went to a local park/preserve called Round Valley. Lately I’ve yerned for nature, and we have so much around us.
These are only a few, within a half an hour from where we live. We are really blessed!
Here are some photos I took while walking through Round Valley. It was so quiet that you could hear when the lizards scurried across the path. Woodpeckers caught my attention a number of times. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many in one area.
Here’s some pics from Round Valley via my Flickr:
Flickr has been known to slow down this site, so I’m hoping you can see these without the slow!
Love and Light! I’ll be posting more later!

Where In The World Is Monica?
I’m still alive! All is well!
I talked last week about my company and I have to say it’s taken over this whole week!
Last weekend was awesome – I had a heart to heart with my step-son. I felt like we had a bit of a wedge growing between us. We did, as it turns out, and after talking to the little man, we are good to go. The photo above is of my best friend Dawn (at her wedding ofcourse), my step-son Daniel and the little princess in the back is Marissa, Dawn’s Daughter. Handsome guy huh?
One thing about my step-son he is extremely *empathic*. He senses folks feelings – and I mean in a big way! Trouble is, he can’t read me. That makes him a bit nervous around me. He said this, not me. He’s very articulate! I love that kid so flippin’ much. I have a way of blocking my feelings from folks, it’s habitual. I just didn’t mean to do it with him. We had a great talk and I get to work on it – and he gets to work on talking about it when things bother him.
But the whole rest of the week has been taken up by my business. I went to that Networking group (wow, awesome group of professionals!), new clients, issues with a client’s QuickBooks file (argh!) and going through my certification for QuickBooks.
The certification is about 20 hours long. It’s in depth and difficult at times, but it’s perfect to freshen up and let others know I know what I’m doin!
Full week, I’m not done with my certification yet – I’ll be workin’ on that all weekend.
I will be working on the certification through Sunday. My husband is gone this weekend to Utah for training at Impact Trainings (he is currently in Life Mastery Training 2) and I will be going in the next few weeks (finally! – Life Mastery Training 1). If you are interested – it’s www.impacttrainings.com.
No hubby ’till Sunday! … I couldn’t sleep last night ’cause he wasn’t in bed …
OH! The foundation has been set on my Sanctuary! I’m totally excited! Here’s some pics! Groundwork – it’s a 10×10 with 5′ entrance. I designed it myself! As soon as it’s finished I can add my plants, fountain, etc. Whoot!
The builder will be back this Saturday to put up the walls and set for the roof, or however that goes.
Love and Light folks, wish me luck on my Certification testing!
Here’s Indy – he sleeps on his back with his legs up, he’s such a GOOF!

Friday Feel Good Day
One reason you won’t see alot of *deep* conversations like yesterdays here, is that this blog is my reach to others to give Love and Light. When things go a bit bumpy, I do write here – but overall, this blog is to send YOU Love and Light. From my heart to yours.
With everyone’s beautiful comments regarding my son – I’d like to give you “Friday Feel Good Day”. Just a post with pics that I’ve found from Photobucket online, that I can share with you.
Colors are a sort of therapy for me as well.
I get a bit cheery when I see photos with alot of color and bright contrasts.
So what better way to send us into the weekend – then to have some nice visual fun!
I hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend!
From my house to yours – Happy Friday!
Love and Light,
Monica
My Child Is In Pain

We raise our children in the hopes that no pain will befall them.
I personally cringe when one of my children stubs even a small toe.
To see our children in pain feels like an unjust thrust upon us from the Universe.
We know that cry when they are small, it’s not a whine or complaint – it’s the “mommy I need you now” cry.
What about when they are teens?

The teen “cry” is different.
At times it is almost mute, and you have to listen intently to hear their cries.
My son has once again cried out and has now been hospitalized.

Again.
This time last year he attempted suicide bringing the family to a stillness I never want to re-live.
This time, he reached out for assistance before the overdose, cutting and police SWAT team that we lived through last year.
I know in my heart this is simply something my son gets to go through.
As his mother, I can tell you with ever breath I take – I do not like it one bit.
Why couldn’t it be that they could just go through life with love, peace and happiness?
I suppose, that wouldn’t be life here would it?
Teen suicide is ridiculously high. I even hear some folks joke about it – I’m not sure I get the joke. Nor do I wish to.
He was diagnosed last year with Bi-Polar with Psychotic Episodes. His medication has been working up until now – or apparently 3 weeks before now as we are finding out.
As his mom, I would just like to ask the Universe to let him be.
Let him feel calm, still, and happy with himself.
I’ll be on and off for a bit, this blog is – after all – a source of my therapy. Don’t wig out if I’m still cheery, I just had to get some of it off my heart in this post. My outlook on all things in life is positive. Even those things that seem to pull my heart right out of my chest.
He’ll come home happy and healthy as he did last time – I just know it.
Love and Healing Light to all of you ~ Monica

My son has requested that I place his writings up on my site for my readers to comment on or at least read. He’s a heavy writer, and it seems that journaling while he’s hospitalized feels good to him. Although I haven’t read it yet, I’ll see what I can do to set up a page for him and either type exactly as he has it, or I’ll perhaps place portions of it up. I’ll post here when I create it.
(photos and graphics other than my son were found from Photobucket – just type “teen”)
EntreCard + Etsy = Hurt to My Visa
Oh, this isn’t a rant. Nor a complaint.
You see, I joined EntreCard to find new blogs. I love reading how others are doing, and getting thoughts and opinions from all over the world. I love people, it’s just in my Universal *Blood* so to speak.
So, with EntreCard I’ve found literally hundreds of blogs I enjoy daily with feeds. Yes, really. I do read my feeds when I can, and make sure I comment back etc.
The hurt to my Visa has only just started.
You see, there are artists in them thar hills! There are quite a few artists that have blogs and also have shops on Etsy.
Good news was, I had no money for a bit ~ hey, it happens.
Bad news is, I have a bit of cash-ola ~ and a project going on that needs little *touches* so to speak. What better way to add a touch to an outdoor sanctuary garden than a miniature fairy house!
I found this gem at Enchanted Garden’s shop on Etsy.
EDIT – Oh my GOSH she has a whole nother shop online… Enchanted Miniature Fairy Garden. My garden would be so excited!
Oh, it has just started!
Ofcourse I found a great birthday present for my niece over at Strawberry Anarchy’s Shop. That little baby is below.
These photos are from their shops, so if either would like them removed ~ please let me know! Not a problem at all! But, I loves your stuff!
