Whoot!  A New Theme!

I had fun creating this one.    Hope you enjoy.  I should keep it for a bit.

I get so bored off of the look of my site.  My humblest apologies.

So – the whole house other than my Marine kid is sick.  I wasn’t up until tonight and I’m feeling it sneak on!

Work is work – it’s tax season so it’s busy as all get out for those of us that tote calculators.  I’m hoping I can get everyone taken care of in time!

I contacted the local Blue Star Mothers of America chapter and I’m pretty excited about going to their meeting tomorrow.  I’m excited to assist in service.  They volunteer quite a bit locally with the vets, wounded soldier’s and families of military personnel.  Since a part of my heart is in the Marines and a part of my heart is in the Army – well, it will feel good to give to those that serve.  They’ve given quite a bit themselves.

Let me know if you like the theme!  It was done with Artisteer and a bit of Photoshop and Digital Scrapbook *stuff*.  It was kinda fun!

Okay – time for me to go night night all.

Rest well.  I can’t wait for spring…..

Oh I do not like how my site looks.  Since I’ve had this site, I swear I’ve wanted to make it look more like how I feel.  It’s really generic.

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to show a photo of this.. .but my hubby bought me the most AWESOME necklace!  I love it love it love it!  I’ve been heavy into my jewelry lately (not that I have alot).  I’m lovin’ dressing up for work.

Anyway, my dearest brought home a necklace and although I want to show you a photo – I don’t have permission to take a photo from her site and I don’t have good enough lighting to take a photo of it on my own.  So – here’s the link if you are interested in seeing this!

The one he bought me is “7007 Titania – Queen of the Fairies Necklace”.  Oh you’ve got to tell me what you think!  I love it!!  It’s heavy enough to let you know it’s there, but NOT too heavy.  The colors are beautiful and the beads make the colors jump out at you!  I’m thinking I need a few more!  Hint… hint honey!

Wicked By Gregory Maquire

I just got done reading “Wicked” by Gregory Maguire.

It’s the other side of the Wizard of Oz, the witches side.  What was the Wicked Witch of the West like?  Why was she so wicked anyway?  Better yet, was she?

This is a really good book and shows the OTHER side of the story.  I couldn’t put it down, seriously.

Not a paid ad btw, if you enjoy reading… this is a good one.  He’s written a few more books that I’d like to read as well.

They do have the musical coming to San Francisco, and my friend and I are drooling to go see it!  Neat site for the musical as well.  Wicked the Musical.

There’s nothing like reading a good book.  I can’t tell you how many I read in a year, I believe I need another room in the house for a library… really.

How Hard Could It Be?  Oh yeah, famous last words.  BUT – I’m actually in the midst of creating FROM SCRATCH my own WordPress template.

I know, hold the giggles.

I installed WordPress on my local machine and I’m in the design phase right now.  Then… well, then I have to cut it up into WordPress correct files… then, well… okay, there is SO much more than that.  BUT I have a trusty dusty book that I got.  I’m leaning on that quite a bit!

Okay, I have a few books that I’m using, but this one in particular has been very helpful.

Hopefully I can get this going. Don’t worry, I won’t upload the derned thingy until I know it works.

Well, mostly works anyway…

This will only be of interest to those using or even knowing what this plug-in is.  SezWho I’ve been using for a bit, that’s why you see the double avatars in the comments.  The plug-in also has a “Who Am I” next to it and if you hover over it you can see the other comments the person has said and where – IF that site is SezWho enabled.

I’m deactivating this plug-in, ’cause I don’t see any benefit from me or the others coming through here.  I could be wrong, or in err…. well, that happens what, rarely?  (::rolls eyes::)  So it’s going OFFLINE as of the moment I’m done with this post.

If for any reason anyone has a good reason that they believe a site should be enabled – please, let me know, maybe there’s something I’m missin’.

Meanwhile – it’s outta here SEZME!

I’ve been playing with Photoshop CS3.  Mainly because I’m just learning.  WOW I had no idea how powerful this program is!  I had CS2 and never really used it.  Bought the upgrade to CS3 – um, ’cause I’m the kind that wants the most recent version of everything (EXCEPT iTUNES!).

As I was going around finding you could get freebies from VERY artistic souls for Photoshop (brushes, etc.) I ran across this Blog Called “Web Designer Wall“.  The first thing that caught me was how beautiful the blog was.  Eye popping WOW!  Then, as I started reading through it I noticed a TON of information on there!  So, for anyone interested take a gander!
