Lots of Thinking

USMC Mom and Marine Son
With my son back with us for less than a month, I’m feeling good. So much has happened in this past week. We drove down to San Diego and saw him for the first time in over 13 weeks on Thursday. Seeing him was shocking to say the least. He went from 220lbs (about) to 164lbs. This was a huge change! Not only that, but the change that only basic training can provide. A focused young man greeted us for family day.
The United States Marine Corps is very good at training our men and women. It’s evident in all of the young men that we saw on Family Day and Graduation. Discipline, respect, honor and courage. I’d say they all have that. It’s obvious just when you look at them. For a mom, this takes on a whole new aspect – believe me.
There are so many feelings I’d like to share, but perhaps I will show a photo first. The photo is of my son and the best thing a momma could ask for – one huge hug.
Road Trip
We are on our way to San Diego! I have thus iPhone app that I can blog with, so I’m gonna blog our journey. Sorry ahead of time if there are tons of spelling errors. It’s difficult as heck to type on this thing!
So, I dropped off my FuzzKid, Indy, at the Brentwood Pet Resort. Yes, resort! Ha! You can have them taken on nature walks, groomed, massaged (really!). Ofcourse my 90 lb beasty pup is too much of a male for the massage (he told me that) – I did get him the extra extended nature walk. I didn’t get him the ice cream treats, but don’t tell him – he’ll never know!
We are making our way over an hour later than I thought we would leave. That’s just me. Daniel gets agitated over waiting fir me, but I personally don’t get stressed over times when it’s a drive. I mean air travel yes, I’m on time and too early usually. However, one of my most favorite things to is road trips!
I used to do road trips all the time! Seems that’s not been too often lately! That’s okay, I have a ton of plans for my future. Travelling on a whim is one of them.
I’m thinking of Sedona Arizona. I have a new friend who lives in Arizona and I think it would be really great to go spend time with her to get to know her better. Friends are so important in life ya know?
Okay weird I just lost a ton of writing. As I was saying before my iPhone app went whacky, there are 16 of us going down to se James. We have 6 in the van right now! Including my preggo daughter. Yeah! Road trip!!
More later!
Feelings
It’s night time, and I should be sleeping. My mind is really racing and I don’t even know about what.
Strangest thing I actually feel alot of fear. Why? Great question. There isn’t any reason. Nothing is happening to have any fear over really.
James will be home with us after this Fruday for 17 days. I’m looking forward to that. So why fear?
Fear about what? I dunno.
I feel very uneasy too. Strange! Why so many whacky feelings?
Want to hear another whacky feeling? I have this urge to run to the hills. Literally get to the mountains. I’ve been looking around at Washington. Why? Another “I don’t know”.
Is it midlife issues? Am I that old.
Countdown – 5 More Days
Hi there!
I’m officially on a countdown until I get to hug my boy!
I’m so excited! I will be out of touch for a bit, but back with tons of pics! Whoot!
Hey, does anyone have any experience with My Memories Suite? I downloaded it and am just checking it out. Let me know, it’s a digital scrapbooking software. I just made the five below with it. Heh! Fun city.

Earth is Talking
Is it just me, or are there more and more large earthquakes happening lately? 8.8 Magnitute Earthqake in Chili – which, was 500 times more powerful they said than the Haiti quake.
Here are the listing of the significant earthquakes from the USGS Site for 2010. Seems to me, something is going on – gee, dunno.

Now there is a tsunami warning for the coast Mexico, California, Oregon, Washington and all the way up to Alaska. Hawaii ofcourse is on the list for the warning and the tsunami will hit there they said in about 4 hours. You can read more at the link.
I hope every keeps safe. Looks like the Tsunami waves aren’t that big though… let’s hope.
Meanwhile, seems the earth is talking! Could be time to listen.
Stay safe, and my thoughts are with Chili and everyone involved.
Officially a United States Marine Corps Momma
As of Thursday, February 25th my son is a United States Marine.
I couldn’t be more proud of him.
I can’t imagine what he’s gone through to get here.
As for me – I’m officially a United States Marine Corps Mother.
My son has your back America.
Blessings to all who serve – you are my heroes.
Special thanks to the website and forums that kept me sane during all of this:
