That’s a beautiful picture Monica! What/where is this?
Tess’s last blog post..Grill Me!
Oh this photo has a story!
Okay, I’m so glad you asked: There is a “castle” here in California called Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA. The grounds are beautiful – the buildings are beyond beautiful. I love architecture and the man that created this whole castle and small “bungalows” was William Hearst – he was a huge HUGE name in the 20s and 30s I believe. Head of the newspaper/magazine group Hearst. If I’m getting this all right. Oh, the photos I found!
This particular photo was of the decoration on just one of the small *bungalow* houses. The detail in the architecture of all of the buildings is past beautiful. I could only catch a bit of it. I’ll load the whole roll on Flickr one of these days. It was taken with my 35mm film Cannon Rebel. I had to send in the negatives to get them digital.
To go to Hearst Castle is like entering a whole different era. A beautiful era.
Ahhhh……..
A lady and a camera can never get enough on those grounds.
I googled the name coz I was curious… What an amazing place, I’ve never seen anything like it, I would love to visit it some day
Thanks for the info Monica, now I’m even more curious about the other pictures *hehe*

It really IS beautiful, Monica – definitely worth a trip out to San Simeon sometime!!
The grounds are gorgeous! And I love history… this place is so full of it!
Gorgeous … I love how the ivy is crawling up.

Same here, I love ivy and would like to be the lucky princess living in this castle!
I like the strong colors here, the blue sky, the green ivy and the terracotta roof.

Oh my gosh I’m with you! If I could live in this castle (and I’ve had dreams of it since seeing it!) – I so would do it in a momento!
