The World Has Gone Mad – Explained by Sjeltur

I hadn’t seen this write up until now – and I’m so thankful to Sjeltur for taking the time to explain generations and what we are going through in each period of time in History (rather, what we have gone through).  This was a very good post and I’d recommend reading it if you are interested in the history and times we’ve gone through since 1880 – Present.  An excerpt from the post (http://sjeltur.nl/the-world-is-going-mad-sign-of-the-times):

A comment by Monica inspired me to write a little about her observation that the world is going mad. It looks like this is true, but it’s actually nothing new. Although never the same, history seems to go through cycles and the current cycle is definitely one with heightened madness. Historians and demographers recognize four basic types of different generations, born in four different eras. Here a table of the different generations and eras, and a short description…

Please go to the site to see his descriptions and following information.  I enjoy reading the blog “Sjeltur:  The World According to Sjeltur” it’s very informative!

Thank you Sjeltur for your Post as response to my comment.  ;)   You are appreciated and I learned something new!

EDIT – I added the link to the actual post.  Duh!  Thanks Annie!

  • What I saw was an article about a $240,000 dollar t-shirt…

  • Rudy:

Hello Monica, I wrote that story about the different times and generations, I’m glad you liked it. My friend is the actual person behind sjeltur.nl, but I write stuff too for his blog every now and then.

It’s a very good question if it’s really a crisis, or it’s just portrayed that way. The thing is, given that these different periods in history last for about 20 years or so, we are only half way there in the current Crisis-era. Perhaps the past 10 years was not a Crisis like the period 1925-1945 was, but we’re not there yet. I’m not saying we will have something similar like WW2 back then, but we can see already problems on the horizon: depletion of resources, authoritarianism that’s creeping into governments that are democratic now, suppression of civil liberties, more and more “1984″, and so on. While every Crisis is different, unfortunately human suffering and death seems to be always the same in history.

    • Rudy – Thank you SO much for writing all of this. To me, the history is so fascinating. I always wonder how we are going to look at this time. What will history say about our now?

I was thinking there was a similarity between now and right before WWII. I do truly hope folks get out of this killing mentality. In some areas of the world, it’s how they live and breathe.

Thank you so much Rudy! I’ve been reading “sjeltur.nl” quite a bit lately. ;)

  • I’ve been struggling lately too with it all. It feels sometimes like the world is going faster and I’m standing still. I’ll get it right I know it… ;)

You know what I wonder? Is it REALLY a crisis or are we portraying it that way? Hmmmmm…..

No guilt dear friend. There’s a reason we are here during this time. ;)
