President Elect – Barack Obama

This is our new first family.

I did vote for the other guy, let’s be clear on that one.  However, I’m truly excited about this Presidency.

I wasn’t excited until today.

I was listening to the BBC World News and heard some of the most amazing things!  Folks outside of the U.S. are excited about this President.  I even heard “We want to love America again”.

Wow!

I don’t really see this about the man, Barack Obama.  I see this as the world wanting to move closer together.  Oh I do hope and pray that is true.

As a McCain supporter I can say – WOW he ran an awesome election.  Kudos to everyone that supported President Elect Obama and those that were a part of this historical campaign.  Wow.

It’s really really beautiful to see and to hear so many folks so excited about the future.

Absolutely Beautiful.

From a McCain supporter to our New President Elect Barack Obama – Congratulations!  Please, assist this country and those in the world that are clinging to the thought of change and hope.  Bless his family for everything they’ve gone through.  I’m sure his Grandmother who passed away before the election is watching over them all.

I haven’t said much on my site about this election because to be honest, there was so much hate on both sides I was hearing I couldn’t stomach it on my site.  Now it’s over, and our country is in need of coming together and healing.

I for one am excited that there are those so absolutely abounding in joy.  I saw so many crying and holding their hearts when they heard.  I think this is truly assisting in healing some very old wounds.

Yeah!!

Love and Light fellow United States citizens, and fellow Earth citizens.  I just loves you all.

  • I, too, was voting for McCain, but now that you’ve mentioned it, it’s kind of cool that the world is coming together because we’ve opened our hearts and our minds to having a black (or half black) president.

    That’s great news.

  • I’m trying to get excited myself about the new president elect. I just hope he can keep the promises he made, only time will tell on that one. I honestly think the only reason McCain didn’t win is because I think people see him and George Bush as one in the same because they are both Republicans. Sort of stupid but I’ve heard that from many people. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for good things coming, I think we all could use a little of that.

  • Monica, it was amazing here yesterday, there was such a buzz in London amongst people of the black and asian communities. It sends out a message of hope to them: that it’s possible to realise a dream, their dream. Isn’t that wonderful? This wasn’t just another election, this is about building trust and hope again not just in the US but worldwide… :)

  • @Stephanie: Yeah, I was a bit let down until I started REALLY paying attention to the folks that supported Obama. I just didn’t realize what this meant, and I’m a bit ashamed about that. I live in a bubble I think that assumes there are no issues anymore about race. But what I’ve learned is, wounds are deep and are carried from generation to generation. Oh I so hope and pray this charges everyone and let’s them know there are NO BOUNDARIES. I’ll be watching our new Pres. and anxiously awaiting for the beauty in all of this. How exciting!

  • @thinkinfyou: Yeah, he’s got such an uphill battle ahead of him. I’m thinking McCain really should have paid more attention to new voters too. In 4 years we will know how things are going. ;) Miss you honey, sorry I haven’t been on much! I”m here though… just trying to get caught up!

  • @Tess: See?! That’s what I’m hearing! Oh I think it’s wonderful! I wish I had understood this more… but that doesn’t matter at this point. I’m just so derned happy folks are happy! I’m giddy really. Just a smidge scared, but it will be okay. It’s all perfect!

I would definitely have voted for him (that is, if I were American  ) so I’m extremely happy he won. The USA deserved a great president, because the country is an awesome one.

I’m getting to know it, living as a northern neighbor, and it has many contradictions, but also a lot of good things, among them, the people.

McCain is, I’m sure, a loyal man, fought for his country and I think he believed in what he stood for (unlike the idiotic vp). But we don’t share the same moral values…

  • You’re totally right….

The passion this election created was unbelievable.

I’m glad it’s over and now all we can do is hope and pray that the “change” happens.

  • @Zhu: Aw, thank you. McCain is simply what I am used to I suppose. Obama didn’t make much sense to me politically. Does now, but really didn’t before all of this. I’m glad he’s in though. ;) Hugs!

  • @Slick: Hey Slick! It is unbelievable, truly! I’m with you, I’m watching for it. Change that is. ;) It must be so neat for his girls, I keep thinking of his kids. We haven’t had little ones in the White House since Kennedy I think.

Hey Z! I also voted for McCain. I wasn’t too disappointed with the outcome though. I am hopeful either way. I am just a bit nervous…I really hope that Obama can deliver on his promises. Anyway, things are going well here. I’m 2 1/2 weeks into my quit. We really miss you on the forum, so I hope you’ll be back soon! The October group is HUGE! Hope all is well with you. Have a great weekend!!

  • Only time will tell wether Obama was the right candidate. Speaking from here in Britain, the BBC were very one-sided, always saying how good Obama was and literally sneering at McCain and in particular Sarah Palin.

  • @Nicole: I bet it’s big! That is so awesome to hear! I’ll be back there this week in the November group! I’m reading that Allen Carr book and it’s excellent! {{{ hugs }}} can’t wait to see you!

  • @thinkinfyou: He’s doing okay. Up and down I suppose. But doing good today! Thanks so much for asking. ;)

  • @Jean-Luc Picard: It was very biased here in the states too… seriously. I am so angry at the media right now… :(
