Week of Fun

Okay, this whole stop smoking thing is bizzare.  I made it 5 days, then smoked one day, then stopped one day then smoking today.

ARGH!

Fer cryin’ out loud.  I’m teaching myself that *I* control the habit.  The habit doesn’t control me.  For me, this seems to be working pretty well.  Each time I smoke I get sick – perfect!  Blech.

So, on to other info, I’m going to Utah next week for training – It’s Impact Trainings LMT 1.  I’ve been through their other trainings:

I always feel so good coming home from these trainings.  Utah is so pretty!  Trouble is, they say it may snow.  This Californian has officially never driven in snow.  Good luck Utah folks!  Steer clear of me!  I’ll be the one slidin’ sideways down the highway yellin’ Yeee Haaaaw!  ;)

Here’s a few pics from Utah I’ve taken:

Enjoy!

OK,so I clicked on the link for the Impact Training, and I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind answering some of my questions about it.
How did you first hear about it?
How long have you been going to them?
Do you see a major difference in yourself since you started?
Why do you think it works?

You don’t have to answer my questions if you don’t want to.I’m just curious ,because I’ve never heard of such a course before, and am interested to see how it works.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. It sounds very interesting. I swear I have spent so much money over the years in therapy to help me deal with ,childhood issues,my panic disorder, and trying to find a sense of inner peace. Unfortunately the only thing I took away from all the therapy,is a medicine cabinet full of prescription drugs.

  • You can take some wonderful pictures, Mon.

“WHY IT WORKS” – Well I can tell you before I went to this training I knew it all, or at least thats what I thought. You get out of it what you put into it. I can tell you that spiritually it has given me tools to be able to deal with challenges in my life and I have learned not to stress so much about everything and accept things as they are and that they are perfect in every way. I personally lost my Father to lung cancer during my training and with this training, I was assisted in learning what love, life, light and living was all about. My father was a great teacher to me and I know he is always with me.

  • thinkinfyou says:

That sounds wonderful,Hubby. Sorry to hear about the loss of your father.
Thanks Monica for being so kind, and I really am going to start looking into this! Thanks Again!!

    Hi there

thinkinfyou – I hope you don’t mind if I chime in on Impact as well.

I went to Impact for the first time in September 2006. I went there because I wanted a quick fix to all the baggage I carried around from a physically and sexually abusive childhood. Ok it was more like a barge but you get the picture.

What I found in myself during the training is that I could actually like even love myself and let go of the baggage. I could smile, laugh and enjoy life and other people. I could be me and not be governed by others opinions of me. I could truly enjoy life and it was ok to do so.

Each training builds on the other and you will be suprised at what you find in yourself.

@thinkinfyou: I have no problem answering those questions at all.

    Let’s see:

    1) I first heard about it from my bestest friend – Dawn. She went to Quest and Summit but hadn’t told us ’cause she was embarassed or something. LOL Anyway, I noticed she seemed more “at peace with things”. I don’t know how to say it. She seemed happy and different. She was going through alot at that time, and to hear her happy made me ponder what she was doin! She told me about it and said that me and my hubby should go. It took a bit for me to go… but, I trusted her and thought I’d give the first one, Quest, a shot.

    2) My very first training I went to was in May of 2007. It was a few days long, and after it was done I wanted to go to the next one… and did about a month or few weeks later (I can’t remember how close).

    3) There is a MAJOR difference in how I view everything. Okay, sounds deep. But, it’s simple really – I don’t get so derned worked up about things because I am coming from a different “space” when issues arise. I seem to handle things SO much better. I’m just more at peace with myself. I don’t wonder what my purpose in life is anymore. Really, I’m not joking on that one. Things that people do or say don’t upset me like it used to. I’d fly off the handle at any given issue. Way back in the day. LOL

    4) Great question – why do I think it works? I cannot possibly answer for anyone else. I’ll ask Daniel, my hubby to put his view on this so you can hear another side – for me, it works because Impact Trainings has been around since 1985 (? I think) and they’ve learned what works for others. The trainers there are non-judgmental and only want to assist you.

One thing I have always wondered with Impact – their training prices are very low. There was one training a friend went to that she paid $3500 for the same amount of time as Impact’s first one which is about $500 or so. That was one reason I wondered about how good they would be until I went. I guess it’s not about the money for them. They seem to enjoy what they do.

Something I did that I would TOTALLY recommend before going to this training or ANY other training like it – call them. For Impact Trainings call and ask for Sally (usually on Monday’s is the best) (801) 572-9700, tell them Monica from Lift-Off 229 sent ya.

BTW *I DO NOT GET ANY $$$$$ FOR YOU TAKING A COURSE* – I have never ever been paid by them.

Seriously… it’s the best training I’ve ever taken and I’m always going to personal development training since I was oh… 21 or so. ;)

If you have further questions, just email me k?

I’ll ask Daniel to comment on it as well.

  • Monica says:

@thinkinfyou: No problem at all! If you ever feel like giving it a shot, I’ll go with you. Seriously. I had my friend there with me as I did it. Not in the training, but she came with me – if someone we know goes through the training, we go there and be there for ya. That I’m not joking about, I would fly out there without hesitation. ;)

  • Monica says:

@Jean-Luc Picard: Thank you! I put some more up from a park I went to this past week. :) I do hope you enjoy!
