His Holiness The Dalai Lama
I just saw the movie “10 Questions for the Dailai Lama“.
I would like to ask each of you with a moment to comment – even short, did you know about what “Free Tibet” and the movement, and the history of what happened to the Tibetan people really meant?
After watching this, then researching I’m going to have to openly admit I had no idea what any of this meant. Right down to the “Boycott the Olympics” and the censorship happening via Google, Microsoft… etc.
Can you tell me? Please?
Do you know what has been happening there? In Tibet? To the people of Tibet?
I’m extremely shocked, embarrassed (that I didn’t pay attention), and a ton sad.

I have been signing petitions galore for this cause. The Chinese government has been suppressing these people for a very long time. Refusing others to practice their religion. They were basically invaded by China. They want their freedom back. They want their human rights back. There is more to the story but that is just a morsel that I can break it down to.

I watched it the other day and I have to say I felt like a dud. Like… I’m under a rock or something. I’ve read most of what I can find on the whole issue and I am so taken back, I’m kinda numb.
I know that there are so many out there on our earth that are being harmed in the name of government, money, or just pure ego – it just is so disheartening.

I don’t know anything about Tibet but I have heard about the protests against the Chinese government. Just recently the Chinese government unblocked the BBC news website and now Chinese people can view the website.

Hi Sapphire! I heard it was still blocked. HOWEVER, from what I can tell many things are not as they seem. I’m not sure what’s true or not true anymore! LOL
I hope they did unblock something….. or heck, who am I to judge. It’s like I’m pushing my views on them. Not correct either.
